My name is Garrett Best. I am originally from Gardendale, AL. I am married to Robin, and we have been blessed with two incredible children. In 2022, I was appointed Chair of the Bible Department at York University in York, Nebraska. My favorite activities include gardening, playing pickleball, and camping with my family.
I graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a BA in Spanish and Bible in 2010, and I finished my Master of Divinity degree at the Harding School of Theology in 2014. In 2015, I was accepted to the PhD program in Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary. My PhD focused on the New Testament, and I developed an interest in the book of Revelation. My dissertation focused on the irregular Greek grammar of Revelation. I finished my PhD in 2021.
I enjoy researching, writing, and teaching the Bible. I have several book reviews and articles published in international journals, and I have presented papers at numerous academic conferences. However, my real passion is bridging the academy and the church. I believe God has called me to a ministry of study that seeks to make the deep truths of the Scriptures understandable and relevant to the lives of God’s people.
Lifelong student of the Lord to the praise of His glory! Amen.
I’m teaching a class on the Bible at my church. If your ears are ringing it is because you are being quoted in western Washington. Thank you! 🙂
You are too kind. Can you email me? I’d love to connect with you. Gbest@york.edu
